Meet Tina Thompson
Tina is a full time Nutrition Educator and has been with Food $ense since 2010. Tina currently teaches Head Start Preschoolers, 1st & 3rd grade elementary in Longview, Kelso and Castle Rock, and 18 -21 year old Transition students through the STEP Program. In addition, Tina will be Partnering with the Highlands Neighborhood Association to work with neighborhood families, and Life Works (Adults with Disabilities). Tina will also be Partnering with Barnes Elementary in Kelso to do Parent Education, lunch room connections and other whole school activities.
Tina is passionate about educating youth on healthy eating habits, and Exercise. She has made it her mission to be an active example. She is an avid walker and loves hiking. In addition she enjoys antiquing with her Husband of 30+ years, and spending family time with her two kids, daughter-in-law and granddaughter.
Tina has over 20 years experience working with youth, teaching Preschool, working with youth at risk through the 21st Century After School program and 15 years Tutoring students one on one through the Longview Indian Education Program. Tina attended LCC and Completed the National Nutrition Certification Program through Utah State University.
